Arnett Fired After Just One Season
Mississippi State has fired head football coach Zach Arnett after just one season. The announcement was made by athletic director Zac Selmon on Monday.
Arnett went 5-6 in his only season as the Bulldogs' head coach. The team's final game was a 51-10 loss to Texas A&M.
Arnett Previously Served as Analyst at Ole Miss
Arnett, 37, is an analyst at the University of Mississippi. He previously served as the head coach at East Central Community College.
Arnett was hired at Mississippi State in December 2022. He replaced Mike Leach, who died of a heart attack in January 2023.
Mississippi State has not announced a replacement for Arnett.
