Sunny Skies, Hot Temperatures Expected Today

After a weekend of heavy rain and thunderstorms, the weather in the First Alert viewing area is finally starting to clear up, meaning more sunshine and hot summer temperatures.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a heat advisory for much of the region, with temperatures expected to reach into the 90s this afternoon.

The NWS is urging residents to take precautions to stay cool and hydrated, such as drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air-conditioned areas, and avoiding strenuous activity outdoors during the peak heat of the day.

Afternoon Showers Possible

While Monday is expected to be mostly sunny, there is a slight chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms.

The NWS says that any storms that do develop are likely to be isolated and short-lived, but they could still bring heavy rain and lightning.

Residents are advised to keep an eye on the forecast and be prepared to seek shelter if severe weather threatens.

The NWS has issued a heat advisory for the following counties in the First Alert viewing area:

  • Adams County
  • Berks County
  • Bucks County

  • Delaware County
  • Lancaster County
  • Lehigh County
  • Montgomery County
  • Northampton County

The heat advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today.
